About Me
I’m Karis (like Paris) Knierim
Though my kindergarten self wanted to be a “princess-alien-rockstar,” I think an actor, singer, dancer, director is a pretty close second. I was born and raised in Nashville, TN where I found my love for theatre at the age of 6 - though the talent for it came with a fair bit of work. As I built my love and skill I tried my hand at almost every aspect of the industry where I gained a more well rounded artistry for myself as well as an appreciation for those around me. To this day, there is not an aspect of this industry I do not wish to try.
Education
I then moved to NYC for college where I graduated from Molloy University’s CAP21 program with a degree in Musical Theatre and a minor in Psychology.
The art I love
I am drawn to art that tells stories that bring out the empathy of humanity. When theatre is used to amplify new, different, or unpredicted stories it is truly beautiful. I get passionate about sharing an experience with an audience- getting them to think and feel things they wouldn’t have expected; sympathizing with characters they never would have thought they shared similarities with. I think it is important that there be a place in this world where we gather to see other human’s experiences, to learn more about ourselves and the world around us.
